Art Camp No.1 — Painting

15—17 Aug

Salty Garden, Mlashe, Georgia

Theme — Returning to Yourself Through Creativity

I held my first art camp not far from Tbilisi, in a quiet glamping spot surrounded by hills and wind. We lived close to nature — woke up to birdsong, practiced yoga, shared breakfast, and painted every day for hours. There were no judgments or expectations, only observation — how paint meets the canvas, how a line appears, how something from within suddenly finds its way out through the brush.

It wasn’t just a retreat for artists — it was a journey inward. Through process, through color, through accidental strokes that turned into revelations. We spoke about the fear of a blank canvas, about what holds us back from creating, and we learned to stay present — not to escape, not to overthink, but simply to breathe and create.

We painted landscapes, abstractions, self-portraits — from life and from imagination. Some people picked up a brush for the first time, others returned to painting after years away. And for everyone, something real happened.

This camp became a beginning. A place where I realized how deeply creativity can shift your state — how it helps you process, release, and refill yourself.

Since then, I’ve known this won’t be a one-time project but a living practice — a place to come back to, again and again, to return to yourself through art.
